Riding Through Texas

If you’re itching to enjoy the freedom of the open road from the seat of your motorcycle, Texas is the place for you. From small towns to big cities, Texas is full of epic destinations and amazing places to explore. Here are our favorite rides to include on your next motorcycle tour of the Lone Star State.

Twisted Sisters

The Twisted Sisters are a group of three highways (Highways 335, 336, and 337) in Texas that are well-known for their twists and turns. Riders come from all over the country just to ride this stretch of road. Along those routes, there are some popular stops for motorcycle enthusiasts. Swing by the Lonestar Motorcycle Museum, the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop, and the Bent Rim Grill for a snack, to rest, or just to see something new at these stops along the Twisted Sisters. Regardless of how frequently you ride or your skill level, the unique Texan landscape along the highways will have you falling in love.

 Good ‘Ol Texas Loop

The Good ‘Ol Texas Loop, found in Hill Country, is a 150 mile round trip ride that will take you by oak-covered hills, flowers, limestone cliffs and crystal-clear streams. At some points on the hills, the view becomes panoramic and breathtaking. The Hill Country community is biker friendly and has plenty to offer to tourists.

Among the most popular would be Bandera, the “Cowboy Capital of the World!” During the summer, there are rodeos every Tuesday and Thursday that you can watch. You can experience live, authentic country music at any venue or even spend the night at a dude ranch.

Austin to Fredericksburg

Riding from Austin to Fredericksburg is about 90 miles one way and will take you between 1 to 2 hours to ride. The route is well paved, but can be twisty at times. You’ll be passing through rural farmland with small towns.

The traffic along this route is usually light but be sure to follow the speed limit and watch for stray animals. If you have time, you can stop at several German restaurants along the way and enjoy their authentic culture and food.

Texas offers unique scenery and cowboy experiences for motorcycle enthusiasts that just aren’t found in other locations or on other routes. There is plenty to do along the way or just enjoy the journey!
