Advanblack Wrapper Hugger Front Fender: Style and Protection Upgrade

If you’re going for a unique, sleek look for your Harley Davidson motorcycle, look no further than
a wrapper hugger front fender. It’s a cool look that will turn heads and show off your front wheel.
With Advanblack’s color match guarantee, you can get our Reveal Wrapper Hugger front
fenders
for either 21” and 19” inch wheel sizes and in most Harley colors. Our wrapper hugger
fenders fit just about any Harley touring model ’09-’23 and fit tire sizes of 130/60-21 or 120/70-
21 in any brand you choose.

What’s the difference between the Wrapper Hugger and the Harley stock fender?
The wrapper hugger style differs from the Harley Davidson stock fender in three ways. First, it
“wraps” more of the circumference of your tire, covering more of the tire, which highlights your
front wheel. Second, it “hugs” your tire more tightly, leaving less of a gap between the fender
and the tire, which makes your bike look less bulky. Third, the slimmer, slick look is just pretty
darn awesome.

If you look at them side-by-side, the first thing you’ll notice is how much narrower the hugger
style is than the stock fender. It also will look a little taller if you stand them up next to each
other. That’s because, as we said, the fender wraps around more of your tire and appears to be
taller if it’s sitting on the ground.

Lastly, if you use a wheel chock to park your bike rather than a kickstand, it’s important to note
that since the wrapper hugger fender wraps around more of your tire, it comes down lower to
the street on the backside of the tire. You may have to adjust your wheel chock to keep the
fender from riding on it.

Are Advanblack fenders different from other hugger style fenders?
Oh yeah. If we’re talking only about color, there is no difference between the color of the
Advanblack fender and any stock Harley color you own. The fender you order will match the
color of your Harley exactly, guaranteed.

If we’re talking about construction, there’s a huge difference here as well. Advanblack’s
Wrapper Hugger front fenders are one piece of heavy gauge steel. One-piece construction is
key, because you’ll find some other steel fenders are actually two pieces of steel that are
welded down the middle. You may not see it at a quick glance, but if you look closely the
fenders aren’t smooth on the top and you can see the seam underneath. Also, if you buy the
fender raw with the intention of custom painting it, your painter will much prefer something
smooth, like you get from Advanblack.

Is it an easy install?
This fender is so easy to install, we just got around to making an install video. This video
focuses on the 21” fender but it applies to the 19” as well.

Unlike many other aftermarket fenders, both the 19” and the 21” fenders come from Advanblack
pre-drilled and ready to install, along with all the hardware you need to do the swap - the fender,
4 bolts, 4 washers, 4 lock nuts, and spacers, which you can get in black or silver. Please note,
however, that the spacers are different between the ’09-’13 and ’14 and up models. Be sure you
order the correct fender for your model year.

In fact, this fender is so easy to install you may find yourself swapping out your front fender for
different occasions.

Why does the hugger need spacers?
Again, the hugger style fender is narrower than your stock fender, and it rides closer to your tire.
So obviously a narrower fender is going to leave a gap between the hugger fender and the
frame. You need the right spacer to fill the gap. It’s a matter of swapping out the stock bolts with
the new bolt and spacer. It couldn’t be easier, but we have a couple of tips that will come in
handy.

First, it’s helpful to have another pair of hands to support the fender while you get the bolts
aligned and through the holes on your frame and fender, but it’s not crucial. You can do it
yourself. Second, get all the bolts on but only finger tight. This is important because you want to
make sure the lines and spacing are even on each side of the fender. So get the bolts on finger
tight, then stand back and look at the lines on each side. Make sure they match. If not, just rock
the fender a little until it looks perfect. Then torque down the lock nuts nice and tight. It’s not a
“must” but feel free to put a bit of Loctite on there. The front fender gets a lot of vibration from
the road.

Lastly, these fenders WILL NOT fit Arlen Ness forks, so if you have them on your bike, you’ll
sadly have to pass on the huggers.
